Effective Friday, March 20 at 9 a.m., no visitors will be permitted at Carilion Clinic facilities.
Hospitals – No visitors with the following exceptions:
  • One designated visitor will be permitted for patients having a procedure requiring sedation/anesthesia who will be discharged on the same day.
  • Patients with physical limitations or cognitive impairments may have one designated visitor.
  • One designated visitor will be permitted for adult trauma patients upon their initial arrival.
  • Two designated visitors will be permitted for obstetric patients.
  • Two designated visitors will be permitted for pediatric patients (parent or legal guardian).
  • Exceptions will be made for patients receiving end-of-life care.
Non-Hospital Clinical Sites – No visitors with the following exceptions:
  • One designated visitor will be permitted for obstetric patients.
  • Patients with physical limitations or cognitive impairments may have one person in attendance to help navigate to and from the appointment.
  • Two designated visitors will be permitted for pediatric patients (parent or legal guardian).
